The most dynamic installation can be degraded by bad aiming or by the fixture’s inability to maintain precise positioning. By improving the mechanical engineering, and design of our original machined knuckle, the LOCK™ eliminates these aiming and adjustment issues.

The LOCK™ is made up of two machined elements which create an internal taper lock. The parts are drawn together by a tamper-proof, stainless steel locking screw. Between the two machined parts is a high temperature ‘O’ Ring.

This mechanical compression design allows the user to aim the fixture vertically without the use of tools, allowing for those very important, very slight, tweaking adjustments without the redundant tightening and loosening that most knuckles require. Once adjusted, the floodlight is locked into place by hand-tightening the recessed locking screw. The LOCK™ eliminates the need for the serrations found on most knuckle systems, which allow only incremental, and therefore limited, aiming of the fixture. The ‘O’ Ring between the machined parts not only provides a water-tight seal, but it also puts a pressure loading on the threads of the lock screw so that vibrations will not cause it to loosen. This happens quite often with most other knuckles. The use of machined 6061-T6 aluminum alloy provides mechanical strengths far beyond that of any cast knuckle, ensuring that our knuckle is the strongest part of the lighting fixture, not the weakest link.

This mechanical compression fit is so strong, that it holds position when subjected to 29+ ft. lbs. of torque. What does that mean in the installed environment? Simply put, it would take a static load of 73lbs. at the end of the fixture cap to create any movement in the knuckle whatsoever.

The elegantly simple design of the LOCK™ ensures that B-K Lighting floodlights will maintain their focus in the toughest of outdoor environments. For peace of mind, all B-K Lighting products come with a 5 year warranty.
