B-K Lighting has partnered with the highly respected and industry-known magazine Architectural Record to make available online continuing education course facilitated through AIA Continuing Education. The online course was first made accessible, both at bklighting.com (keywords AIA CEU) and in print in Architectural Record’s December issue.

The class is hosted by ArchRecord CE which serves more than 25,000 architects through its application, with over 90,000 registered users.

The course is titled “Best Practices for Drainage and Powering In-Grade Fixtures: Tips for Designing a Trouble-Free Installation in Outdoor Settings.”

This course examines the importance of soil drainage to in-grade fixtures and illustrates how to determine the type of soil present at a project site. Concepts include best practices when specifying and installing in-grade fixtures, comparing and contrasting the different types of well and direct burial luminaires in order to select the right fixture for the lighting objectives. This course also explores the options of bringing power to recessed in-grade fixtures.
