Celebrating its Grand Opening on October 7, 2018 was Vernon Hills’ new $200 million Mellody Farm shopping center.

With its five major stores — REI, Whole Foods, Nordstrom Rack, HomeGoods and Barnes & Noble and an abundance of restaurants and store fronts to come, Mellody Farm has definately sparked interest.

Named after the iconic farm (previously operated by the Cuneo family), the new shopping center showcases the Sign Star™ Style L and Twin Sign Star™ Style C both utilizing our Adjust-e-Lume® Power of 'e" BKSSL® technology among its exterior.

"They worked perfect to light up our signage," said Jered Widmer, Principal at the Lighting Practice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, "I was surprised at the punch and impact of ‘e’. It’s so easy to think it doesn’t put out much because it’s only 7W but it was stellar!"

In 2013 the Fashion Fair mall began an extensive renovation that included new buildings and a large open-air space.

During the day, the alluring ambiance is created with simple "umbrella-like" structures flanking the ever-growing shopping venue in the heart of the Central Valley. At night the area comes alive bringing an almost ethereal glow to those around it.

This photograph displays the custom pole luminaries that were created for the large canopied plaza. Each canopy embraces custom floodlight embellished fixtures featuring both BKSSL® Power of 'X' Technology (Denali Series™) and the robust Metal halide source (Yosemite Series™...now also available in BKSSL® Power of 'X' Technology)!.

November 11, 2017 marked the unveiling of the impressive 15,000 pound granite monument located in the town of Coarsegold off of Highway 41.

Dedicated to all the service men and women, past, present and future, this is the first in the area to represent all branches of the armed forces.

The brainchild of Caring Veterans of America, Inc., the monument incorporates a four foot black marble podium in the foreground with two granite displays standing at over 7 feet tall and 6 feet wide flanking the back. These displays feature the seals of five branches of the U.S. Armed Forces: Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard, and another equally large piece of granite in the center with the American flag painted on it.

The inscription on the podium is engraved “This monument is dedicated to all the service men and women of all armed forces from the past, the present, and the future. It reminds us of our fallen heroes who have died defending our freedom and our country and to let everyone know that they have not been forgotten.”

In the background stand three flags: POW, the US Flag and State of California.

Strategically lit with the Yosemite Series™ floodlights featuring BKSSL® Power of ‘X’ technology. The soft glow created with the exclusive wall wash optic opens the monument up dramatically for passersby.
