QUESTION: What are the control options with color tuning BKSSL® products?

ANSWER: There are currently three controls options for BKSSL® solid state products powered by Araya®. As an example we will use the K2 Series™ floodlight.

Color tunable BKSSL® technology offers dynamic lighting that includes CCT modulation, dimming and color hue/saturation along the Planckian curve. In layman's terms this means the warm/coolness of white light, how bright the light is and what color/color intensity that light may be.

The first option is wired using two sets of 0-10V industry wired controls. One 0-10V control provides CCT modulation between 2700K and 6000K in 1% increments. The second control enables dimming in the 5%-100% range also in 1% increments.

The second option requires the use of the Light Commissioning Tool which is specified separately. The LCT operates at 2.4 Ghz and can detect fixtures within its wireless network which is approximately 10 meters. The wireless control permits individual fixture on/off function, 5-100% dimming in 1% increments and CCT modulation through the 2700K - 6000K range.

The third control option is a hybrid of both the wired and the wireless options. The LCT may also be utilized with industry wired 0-10V wired installs to select a single color point off the Planckian curve for dynamic full color output with the remaining functions enabled by the two 0-10V wired controls.
