B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination® recently released their Demi family of products, a small but powerful collection which includes floodlight, catenary, and surface downlight designs. The Demi’s compact size and line voltage configuration provides easy installation with minimal visual impact, making it an ideal solution for those looking for a bold fixture that won't detract from the surrounding environment.

The Demi’s concept and design originated from one of B-K Lighting's long-term employees. Brendam Zambrano, who was working in the warehouse at the time, thought it would be interesting to create a small fixture comprised of the body of a legacy B-K fixture, and the cap of B-K’s popular Denali floodlight. Using these components, Brendam pioneered a new fixture concept with a footprint and functionality largely unseen in the company and in the market.

"It's key to note the size of the Demi when looking at other line-voltage fixtures in the market," said Chelsea Hernandez, Senior Product Designer for B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination. “It's rare for something that small to be able to do the things that the Demi can.” The Demi’s compact size and reduced weight are especially noteworthy as a catenary, where these attributes provide greater flexibility and possibilities when dealing with the engineering required to suspend fixtures.

B-K’s new Demi fixtures come equipped with a 9W output, offering up to 500 total delivered lumens. The Demi Floodlight comes with 5 cap options while both the Catenary and Surface Downlight configurations come with 3 cap options. The Demi Surface Downlight offers an optional stem in the following lengths: 3”, 6”, 12”, 18”, 24”, 30”, 36”, 42”, and 48”. All three versions offer four CCT colors, 80 or 90 CRI, the option of ELV, INC or 0-10V dimming, and hundreds of standard, premium, or custom color options.

Like all their fixtures, B-K Lighting + TEKA Illumination’s Demi is 100% made in the U.S.A. from sustainable processes. Its materials and components are sourced from local suppliers with nearly all the manufacturing handled within B-K’s facility in Madera, CA.
